Travel Insurance

No matter where you go or what you do on your trip, don’t forget to protect yourself or your loved ones in the event they become ill, get injured, or worse when you are away from home.

Don’t be lulled into a sense of security by thinking “it won’t happen to me.” Just Google for instances where things happened to travelers. I think you will be surprised to find out that these are instances where little is revealed owing to the fact that these sort of happenings are not very newsworthy items.

My partner and I travel frequently on international cruises. Consider if you were doing the same and having to have yourself relocated from the mid-Atlantic or Pacific to the nearest hospital or back home…not cheap by any means. Or, in our case, where we go to China and if we needed to be transported back to the US for hospitalization….what cost would be involved?

On the other hand, what if you need to cancel a trip you paid for a year ago, how hard would it be to get a refund?

If you can afford to self-insure, then by all means, ignore this, but if you can’t, then search out the least expensive company that gives you all the coverage you feel you will need. Note that they do not cover you if you are over 70 yrs. of age.

World Nomads has a good reputation.
